    Managing Director

    Vivek Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND), leads the Consumer Electricals Business (Lighting, Wiring Devices, Switch Gear, Cables & Wires, Fans, Appliances etc.) under two key brands: Panasonic and Anchor. He joined the company in 2017 as the Joint Managing Director and was soon elevated, from April 2018, to be the first Indian Managing Director of PLSIND and today oversees the growth of all the businesses which saw an accelerated growth in both revenues and profits. Total revenues increased 1.5x, from Rs 22.9 Billion in FY16-17 to Rs 33.9 Billion in FY19-20. Similarly, the operating profit increased 2.2x, from Rs 2.65 Billion in FY16-17 to Rs 5.8 Billion in FY19-20. PLSIND is not only the fastest-growing company in the Indian Electrical Construction Materials (ECM) industry but, also the most profitable. PLSIND was awarded the fastest company growing company in sales and profits, for the last two consecutive years, within the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa) region for the Panasonic Corporation. That the brand Anchor was ranked by Forbes magazine, as the No. 1 brand in the FMEG category, in India for 2019-20, was the icing on the cake!

    Mr. Sharma joined Panasonic Life Solutions India from the private equity firm, Everstone Capital, with which he was associated as the Partner – Operations, for a period of 3 years, from April 2014 to July 2017. As an industry veteran, Mr. Sharma brings with him a unique blend of business and brand development experience across FMCE, Lighting, and Consumer Durables sector.

    Before joining Everstone, Mr. Sharma was the President for Morphy Richards, an SBU of Bajaj Electricals Ltd, since its inception in FY 2003. He steered the brand to a stage where it became the fastest ever International brand to exceed the annual sales turnover of over Rs.200 crores in the Indian market for small appliances. An MBA from Pune’s prestigious Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Mr. Sharma was the President of the 6th Batch of the Students’ Council. He has an excellent co-curricular and academic career with a first-class education throughout.
