Vinod Nair

Vinod Nair is one of India’s senior-most fashion journalists based in New Delhi. He was the Fashion Editor of Hindustan Times until August 2016 and prior to that the Times of India with his career in fashion and luxury spanning over 25 years. Vinod Nair was part of the core team that started the first-ever luxury conference in the country Hindustan Times-Mint Luxury Conference in 2006 and he successfully conducted the conference in Delhi and Mumbai until his departure from HT Media in 2016. Chairmen/CEOs/Presidents and fashion designers of famous brands from around the world such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Diane von Furstenberg, Emanuel Ungaro, shoe designer Christian Louboutin, Angela Missoni, Fulvia Visconti Ferragamo, Chambre Syndicale de la Couture (Paris Fashion Week) President Didier Grumbach, Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana (Milan Fashion Week), Vice Chairman Vittorio Missoni, French Trade Minister (IMF President) Christine Legard, Chairman of Louis Vuitton Yves Carcelle, Chanel President Francoise Montenay, Hermes President Christian Blanckaert, Victoria’s Secret supermodel Karolina Kurkova, to mention a few, have attended the conference in the past. Vinod Nair has been associated with fashion weeks in India and abroad and for his contributions to the world of fashion, he was awarded the Best Fashion Journalist award at the first-ever fashion awards held in the country, F-Awards and has been invited to speak at the Festival Hyeres, organized by the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Paris and also at the first Latin American Luxury Conference held at Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vinod Nair was also one of the first Alchemists at the Chivas Alchemy held in New Delhi and Mumbai. He has also launched India Fashion Summit, an annual fashion dialogue conference, for the first time in India in 2016 and is also actively engaged in promoting bright, young design talents through his projects.
