    MD

    Mr Varun Saraf, Managing Director, Chartered Hotels Pvt Ltd, is a young and dynamic business leader in the field of real estate and hospitality.
    Having completed his education in 2006 from Tufts University with a triple major in Philosophy Political Science and Economics, he returned to India and started working in the family business.
    Varun has founded and developed the vision behind Chartered Hotels: to build mid-market and full service hotels across tier II cities in India through greenfield expansion and brownfield acquisition. Chartered Hotels now has three operating hotels in Hampi, Raipur and Lucknow with a total of 450 rooms under the Hyatt brand. He is also leading the asset management vertical at Saraf Hotel Enterprises which has over 3500 rooms across South Asia.
    Varun has also developed a hydro power platform for investment in the renewable space in Nepal. With a target of 500MW, the platform already has 23.5MW under operations and another 100MW under construction. Above all, he loves participating in marathons and treks, and the most recent creation is the Sagarmatha Next Museum on the way to Everest Base Camp.
