Sitaram Sharma

Mr. Sitaram Sharma is the 62nd President of Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata. In his business profession, Mr. Sharma is the Chairman of Mironda Group of Companies and the Managing Director, Mironda Trade & Commerce Pvt. Ltd. the company is also a Star Export House. He is also the Director of Mercury International and Contemporary News Pvt. Ltd. – a leading publishing company, as well as of R S Finance Pvt. Ltd. and Malvika Commercial Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Sharma has been the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus at Kolkata for Eastern India for over 15 years. He is associated with a number of statutory, voluntary and philanthropic organisations and institutions in various capacities. He has also served by invitation at a number of Committees constituted by the Government of India and Government of West Bengal; voluntary organisations as well as Associations of United Nations and other national and international agencies and autonomous bodies.

Mr. Sitaram Sharma has authored a number of books and has been a journalist in early years. In addition to his travel to several countries with business interests, he has been an active member of business and cultural delegations and has been the Panel Speaker at International and National Conferences and Seminars.

An erudite person that he is, Mr. Sharma has authored a number of books and has contributed articles in various newspapers with journalistic flair. Journalism was his profession at early age and still remains his passion.

A graduate of the University of Calcutta with Distinction, Mr. Sharma holds a degree of Master of Business Administration from Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Administration, Kolkata.
