Shivani Wazir Pasrich

An Actor, Activist, and promoter of the Arts, former Miss India Worldwide, Shivani Wazir Pasrich is also a Classical dancer, Master of Ceremonies, and Educationist. She is an Economics Honours graduate from Lady Shri Ram College & a Law graduate from Faculty of Law, Delhi University. She has acted in Yash Chopra’s National award-winning film and has to her credit more than five hundred television shows & over a thousand live events. She is the Founder of the Commonwealth Cultural Forum (a platform for creative people of the world to come together), Chairperson of the Commonwealth Society of India, CEO of SWP Productions, and Director of The Study School.

This performance arts practitioner and content curator is involved with social concerns and was engaged as a Consultant by the Hon’ble Speaker to help launch Lok Sabha (Parliament of India) TV channel. She has been a regular speaker at the National Human Rights Commission and has been working for the cause of safe motherhood with the White Ribbon Alliance. She is a member of the Executive Committee for the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children and is the Vice President of Ekatwam- a charity that helps people with Epilepsy. Shivani ran with the Late Milkha Singh for the Terry Fox Foundation and was part of the Pink Chain Campaign to spread awareness and offer prevention tips on cancer. Shivani Wazir Pasrich founded SWP Productions, like advocacy to raise awareness through the performing arts. Through this, she acts in and produces plays and cinema for causes like conservation and gender equality. Some of her projects include “Girls are Gold”, “Draupadi”, “Swachh is cool”, “Prakriti” and “I am Tiger”.

In 2018 she attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) meeting in London in her capacity as the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Society of India and the Asia Representative of the Royal Commonwealth Society. She then launched the Commonwealth Cricket Cup at the National Stadium in New Delhi. The cup was then taken to Kawloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong where teams from six nations participated. This was an awareness drive to aid people with epilepsy and sensitize the general public. Shivani presented several Polo tournaments through SWP Productions including the Bhopal Pataudi Polo Cup, the Tata Polo Cup, and the Law & Justice Trophy. As a compere, she has a vibrant persona and has presented live quiz shows, launches, government events, music album releases, beauty pageants, and fashion shows. She compered the launch of the former Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry album, “Samvedna” and emceed the release of a book on the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan which was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

She has acted in a number of television serials like “Mumkin”, “Muthi Bhar Sitaree” , a telefilm “Hame Jahan Pyar Mile”, “Bangle” as well as Yash Chopra’s film “Dil To Pagal Hai”. She has acted in musicals, like “Annie” and “West Side Story”, in serious plays, like “The Maids”, “The See Saw” and “Kamana” and in comedies like “The Dear Departed”, “Black Comedy” and “Who Done It”, besides three of Mahesh Dattani’s plays, “Dance Like a Man”, “Where There’s a Will” and “Bravely Fought The Queen”. Her play entitled “Larki Seedhi Rahegi” was performed at the NSD theatre festival in Bangalore and was a part of Lady Shri Ram college’s 50th year celebration.

Her interest in dance, theatre and the arts at large led her to a diverse career, where she also produced and directed documentaries on the Girl Child, Education, and Dance. The immediate tracks ahead see her hours impassioned with working with children.
