Shivani Malik, Director, Da Milano, entered the business back in 2007 when Da Milano had only two stores. Reckoned as a fast-moving bridge-to-luxury brand, Da Milano today has more than 85 stores including operated showrooms at 21 Airports in India, 5 showrooms in the UAE and 1 in Nepal. Ms Malik is responsible for the brand’s global acclaim in the Gulf. In 2010, Ms Malik co-founded Rosso Brunello, a leading footwear brand in India and UAE. Today, the brand has 9 standalone stores, 27 dual-brand (with Da Milano) stores in India and four stores in UAE. In 2017, Ms Malik co-founded another brand, Wooba, a contemporary leather accessories brand, which has been founded by the team behind Da Milano. The brand aims to appeal to the fashion-conscious youth seeking quality products and at an affordable price point. The brand currently has two standalone stores, in Noida, DLF Mall of India and Gurugram, Ambience Mall. A strong proponent of education, Ms Malik is also fulfilling her grandmother’s dream to impart education to underprivileged children. She is the director of Monsoon Kids, a school that was founded by her maternal grandmother in Kalkaji, New Delhi, with the aim to equip underprivileged children with the necessary skills to compete in a global marketplace, so they can lead a life of dignity. The vision of the school is to end the perpetual cycle of poverty. She firmly believes that education is an investment made for a brighter future for children. 6 years ago, the school also started a sponsorship Programme, Create a Future, wherein the teachers select 4-5 students based on their academic performance, as well as integrity and hard work, to be sent to private schools for further education. The programme has successfully sponsored 15 students of different age groups until now.
