    Rasika Wakalkar

    Founder & Owner

    Post an active contribution to the field of education for 8 years with the family Trust, In 2008 Rasika started Rudraksh, Pune’s first multi-designer studio, addressing the lack of availability of luxury designer clothes and accessories in the local market, inspired by Indian fashion design talent and the local demand-supply gap. Ever since, she has enjoyed being the bridge between more than 300 known and lesser-known designers and a loyal, growing client base within and even outside of Pune.

     

    She has received the Star Youth Achiever Award in Fashion at the Global Youth Marketing Forum in Mumbai. She has been invited as a speaker at various forums including the Franchise India Retail summit, CII, Yi, multiple fashion schools, a panel discussion at Lakme Fashion Week, and more.

     

    Apart from her professional achievements, she has been very actively involved with social & entrepreneurial organisations such as Yi and EO. Community engagements have brought in a richer exposure to networks across the world and an experience of working with peers from different backgrounds.

     

    In 2018, Rasika founded The Vishwas & Anuradha Memorial (TVAM) Foundation in the memory of her late parents, Anuradha and Vishwas Mhalgi. The Foundation is committed to researching, celebrating and informing the general public of the rich textile traditions of the Deccan and its narratives. The Foundation has been enriched by Rasika’s immense learning in the field which showed her the gaps and drove her desire to make a difference and impact to the field.
