With the farm output crossing the 500 MMT mark across all farm produce and over 240 MMT for grains and cereals. The requirement for modern warehousing is a priority for all involved with the farm chain – farmers, government, traders, processors etc.

Gramco is addressing the issue by setting up fully equipped facilities strategically located and close to villages and also easily accessible from major cities. Gramco’s warehouses aim to significantly minimize storage losses, create modern storage infrastructure in unserved areas, preserve and maintain quality of stored produce with high-quality storage and timely pest control.

All Gramco Warehouses have 24 * 7 security and onsite staff, with fenced boundaries and complete infrastructure like Electronic Weigh Bridge, DG sets, Admin Office and Accommodation for staff.

Gramco is also implementing an IT backbone whereby real-time stock updates across all locations will be available to customers at the click of a mouse.

Quick and Timely access to organized finance is a huge game changer for the Indian Farmer, who are selling either to clear society dues, plan for the next crop or to fund a function at home. Financial constraints owing to the lack of liquidity are a major challenge for the agriculture sector in emerging economies. Gramco not only assists farmers to open a bank account if they don’t have one but also ensures that they are funded against warehouse receipts in the farmers account, if farmer chooses to go for the same. Gramco has dedicated staff, catering to the farmers and we complete the entire activity in 24-48 hours for the farmers !!

Gramco procures from the farmers through the state APMC’s and also through its contract farming operations, plans are afoot to obtain private market yard licenses for directly procure from the farmers at all its facilities. The current focus is oil seeds, pulses and grains. While going forward the procurement operations will cover a more wider bouquet for crops.

Cleaning and grading of grains and cereals has demonstrated high gains for the trading community, specially in the case of Wheat, Chick Pea, Pulses, Coriander, Mustard etc, making the same opportunity available to the farmers ensures higher profits and stronger farming community which will assure food security. Profits must flow and freely to the farmers and every opportunity must be provided to them to make the gains which they deserve. Gramco works towards ensuring the gains flow to the farmers and also acts as a market maker for the farmer – thereby ensuring payments to him without financial risks.

High quality planting material supported with farm extension services and technical support is needed to ensure Higher productivity and yields for the farm produce. Gramco involves farmers at multiple levels- supplying inputs, engaging for contract farming and undertaking certified seed multiplication program (Gramco is not engaged in seed related research at the moment). This encourages the farmers in adoption of better inputs and thereby higher yields and gains. Contrary to the common belief that farmers are slow or resist seed replacement – we have experienced that proper guidance and support is a positive motivator for the farmers.
