Rajinder Bhatia

Shri Bhatia, President and CEO of Bharat Forge Defence and Aerospace, is heading Defence, Aerospace and Homeland Security in the Kalyani Group of Companies. He is also President, Director KSSL, BF Elbit, BF PEL, and Chairman of Analogic Controls at Bharat Forge Ltd and is working as the Group President and CEO of Group Defence and Aerospace Vertical. In addition he is Director of 3 group companies namely BF ELBIT, BF PEL, KSSL and also Chairman of the Board of ACIL.

A self driven business leader capable of starting new business and converting it into a world class competitive unit, he has in-depth knowledge of government regulations, policies and procedures – having been part of the policy making process. He was part of the top leadership team which formulated the Strategic plan for the L&T group of companies with Boston Consulting Group. He has taken an active part in the framing of Government Policies in Defence and was one of the original co-Founders and most straightforward, innovative, and dynamic participants in the Forum on High-Tech Defence Innovation and SITARA.

He has played an active part in formulating the recommendations of the: Kelkar committee, New Make procedure; and Offsets. Previous Experience General Manager Head SBU at Larsen & Toubro Limited July 2003 – April 2010 (6 years 10 months). Start and establishment of New Business Unit. Strategic tie ups engineered between L&T and some leading defense contractors of the world. Headed Land Systems Group, established one of the most modern greenfield plants for Defence Manufacturing. Headed complete operations for both plants manufacturing defence goods in addition to being the SBU head. Was also head of International Business for Defence and Aerospace of the company for a period of three years in addition to other responsibilities Education: Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies/ PGDMBA, Engineering, Management, PM Activities and Societies: FIE, AIMA, Member FICCI committee on defence.
