Born into a family of doctors, engineers and politicians, Nivedita came from a non-fashion background. She has always been inclined towards the creative fields; painting, experimenting with fabrics and design have always recharged her spirit. Nivedita Saboo stepped into the realm of fashion, from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT, New Delhi) as a gold medalist. She went on to become the youngest head designer at Arvind Brands in the year 2001. Launching her dream label ‘Nivedita Saboo Couture’ in the year 2002 with one tailor and one sewing machine; she has created an energetic, uber luxurious brand with great perseverance and determination. Today 17 years later, Nivedita Saboo is a name to reckon with, within the fashion industry. The House of Nivedita Saboo continues to impact a voluminous number of lives on a national and international platform. Nivedita Saboo is nominated as the “Founding Curator” for the Global Shapers community of the World Economic Forum. The House of Nivedita Saboo launched its first lavish flagship store on FC Road, Pune in the year 2004, followed by one in Kalyani Nagar in 2012 and Mumbai in 2016; properties spread across over more than 10,000 sq feet of Luxury space. A strong and edgy design language combined with an extensive study of fit, that amalgamates new age technology with Indian craftsmanship is what defines ‘The House of Nivedita Saboo’. Over the years, the label has developed and created a self-sustaining unit with more than 200 inhouse skilled craftsman and designers who bring to life innovative designs from artistically enriching detailed sketches. With expertise in understanding the personalities and lifestyles of clients, the label excels in designing distinct prêt and couture collections that consist of business clothing, travel & resort wear as well as wedding trousseaus and takes pride in creating world class luxury wardrobes for over 18,000 globally empowered men and women across the globe. Nivedita Saboo is a staunch believer of sustainability and is now taking the leap towards indulging in sustainable solutions within the brand, the fashion industry and on an International platform.
