Kulsum Shadab Wahab

Kulsum Shadab Wahab, spearheads the Hothur Foundation in India. She is an award-winning humanitarian who works at the grassroot level with Acid attack survivors in India and vociferously champions the skin banking campaign for them. Its a cause that helps rebuild, nurture and restore the women who have survived this heinous assault, changing their lives forever. Kulsum is a kindred spirit  she also sees fashion as a powerful visual tool and uses it to try and bring visibility and energy to this cause, with her project Ara Lumiere™. This comprises a line of the most breathtaking headgear that is handmade with love by the acid attack survivors themselves – each one unique, and an expression of beauty of each woman’s personal beliefs and ideas. Kulsum is also engaged in multiple initiatives with orphaned children, differently abled adults and neglected elders. The commonality in all of Kulsum’s charitable work is a deep sense of commitment to delivering dignity and self-reliance to humanity, regardless of their condition.
