Kavita Khosa

Kavita Khosa has united her passion for Ayurveda, wellness and her commitment towards positive social impact for women and the environment through her creation of PUREARTH and the PURE PURPOSE FOUNDATION.. A former Wall Street firm lawyer and director at Deutsche Bank, Kavita shed her corporate avatar to embark on a voyage through the high altitude Himalayas where she spent years conducting extensive research on the ecological environment, establishing partnerships with community based organizations, womens’ micro-credit and self-help groups from Kashmir to Kumaon, India.

Kavita read law at the University of Pune and Hong Kong University and holds Diplomas in Advanced Organic Cosmetic Science, Ayurveda and Vedanta. An Ayurvedic practitioner for over 20 years, Kavita is an Iyengar yoga teacher and established Sachananda Yoga Shala, a non-profit yoga school before founding PUREARTH in 2012. A member of the Law Society of Hong Kong and a lifelong member of the Federation of Women Lawyers, Hong Kong, Kavita is an active women’s rights campaigner – she led the making of ‘Slave Brides’ an award-winning television documentary on the exploitation of Indian women abroad. 

In June 2022, Kavita published her debut novel – “Beauty Unbottled – Timeless Ayurvedic Recipes & Rituals” with Penguin Random House India which hit the # 1 Bestseller list on Amazon. Featured on the cover of “India Today” Woman business magazine and sits on the judge’s panel for Harper’s BAZAAR Conscious Beauty Awards. Nominated as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Adventist Hospital Women of Hope Foundation, Hong Kong and a “Top 50 Emerging EU India Beauty Industry Leader” by the EU ICBI, Kavita is invited to speak globally on womens’ empowerment and sustainability at various forums such as at the University of Hong Kong, Arab Luxury World Conference, Himalayan Echoes Arts & Literary Festival and at radio talk shows. Kavita has also hosted her own TV show on Tata Sky Beauty Channel, India. 

Kavita Khosa’s background in Ayurveda and wellness, combined with an intrinsic desire for social change resulted in her founding Purearth, a global luxury,skincare and wellness brand and the Pure Purpose Foundation, a Section 12A and 80G tax exempt charity that supports environmental initiatives and income generation programs for resource poor women and grassroots farmers in India.
