Hersh Shah is the Chief Executive of IRM India Affiliate. The Institute of Risk Management (IRM), is the world leader in Enterprise Risk Management Examinations across 143 countries with thought leadership since 1986.

Hersh Shah, a Commerce Graduate from Mumbai University (H.R. College of Commerce & Economics), is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and an alumnus of IIM-Bangalore. He is the Youngest and Leading Enterprise Risk Expert in India who has earned the Technical Specialist in Enterprise Risk Management from Institute of Risk Management, UK. He started advocating the need for 360 degree risk management at a young age of 21 and has addressed over 12,000 students and professionals. He has over 14 years of experience in audit and assurance, risk management, consulting and corporate finance including structuring of strategic alliances & partnerships.

    Hersh Shah is the Chief Executive of IRM India Affiliate. The Institute of Risk Management (IRM), is the world leader in Enterprise Risk Management Examinations across 143 countries with thought leadership since 1986.
    Hersh Shah, a Commerce Graduate from Mumbai University (H.R. College of Commerce & Economics), is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and an alumnus of IIM-Bangalore. He is the Youngest and Leading Enterprise Risk Expert in India who has earned the Technical Specialist in Enterprise Risk Management from Institute of Risk Management, UK. He started advocating the need for 360 degree risk management at a young age of 21 and has addressed over 12,000 students and professionals. He has over 14 years of experience in audit and assurance, risk management, consulting and corporate finance including structuring of strategic alliances & partnerships.

    He started his career with KPMG in the Governance, Risk and Compliance (Risk Advisory) services, where he worked on many enterprise risk consulting assignments across South Africa, USA, UK, China and the Middle East. He was also selected amongst the ‘Top 6’ of the firm as part of the Ideas for Innovation Initiative by the CEO’s Office at KPMG India. Prior to setting up IRM to India, Shah set up and managed a microfinance NBFC within a financial services group where he scaled up the portfolio to over USD 15 mn leading a team of 250+ people across India across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam. He also has a 12-month experience of setting up a business school ground up with expertise in financial planning, budgeting, strategy, project management, fundraising and more. Hersh was also one of the 450 people to be selected in 2014 for a social entrepreneurship train journey across India which helped him decipher rural and semi-urban India.
     
    He is a member of the National Education Committee of FICCI, Vice Chancellors Council of All India Management Association (AIMA), Audit and Risk Management Committee of ASSOCHAM, Risk Committee of Della Leaders Club, Internal Audit Committee of Bombay Chartered Accountancy Society, Life Member of Institute of Directors (IOD) and is a frequent speaker on risk-related topics at various conferences and author for newspapers and magazines. He has also been a Jury Member of the India Risk Management Awards for CNBCTV18. Hersh has also been selected as a Mentor in Turner MIINT ESG competition to support teams from Wharton Business School and Dartmouth College. He is also an Agenda Contributor for World Economic Forum and Forbes Advisor.

    In his free time, Hersh enjoys reading, nurturing and scaling new ideas, singing and watching lawn tennis.
