Dr. Sangeeta Aditya

With more than 17+ years of experience in scientific research, corporate and management in the area of genetics, molecular, synthetic Biology, forensic identification, healthcare and personalised genomics, She is currently seeking to utilize her highly transferable skills to make impactful innovation and aiming to contribute to the global health industry. Her mission is to bring together the latest technology, multidisciplinary institutions and talented people to contribute to the Medtech/Health sector with impactful products and services through knowledge sharing and cross-border collaboration.

With extensive experience in biological research, industrial manufacturing in biotech and MedTech products, teaching/instruction, and clinical laboratory environments, she feels confident in her ability to craft strategic initiatives for a greater impact in the health industry. Her significant exposure to various aspects of collaborative work in Health science, MedTech, Lab Management and DNA research administration, along with related execution of high-end deep tech products have equipped her with the critical, technical and commercial abilities enabling her to thrive in the fast-paced R&D and production environment.

She worked as a senior scientist and domain lead of Biology for software tool development in a gene synthesis project at Evonetix Ltd, UK. She coordinated with multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams of Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and Bio-informatics for product development where she was one of the inventors of the next generation of DNA synthesis on Chip and a patent holder on the method for producing double-stranded polynucleotides based on oligonucleotides with selected and different melting temperatures. At the University of Oxford, she worked on interdisciplinary research projects, focusing on nucleic acid chemistry and its applications in other fields including DNA diagnostics, DNA sequence analysis, forensic science and nanotechnology.

She led the development and production of millions of COVID-19 RTPCR and VTM kits that at the time of crisis in 2020-2021 and other essential goods and services for the healthcare sector. MindZpec is an emotion detection system powered by AI and Machine Learning which she initiated that detects human emotions, especially useful to children going through anxiety and stress.

She is passionate about promoting and supporting women-led healthcare and life science start-ups looking to launch and expand in the global market through mentorship, guidance and fundraising for inclusive growth. At GWASE, she initiated a partnership with the Australian Consulate-General; Chennai, India called AusBridge that promotes and support the empowerment of women and attracts them to STEM for minimising the gender parity.
