    Mr. Chinmaya Arjun Raja is a Chennai based entrepreneur, wine educator, food researcher, pickle-maker, curator of Food events, polyglot, Indian Classical Music singer and Cultural activist. Mr. Raja is also a French Language and Cross-Cultural trainer with more than 20 years of experience working and travelling in France/ Europe and various French-speaking countries in West & Central Africa for Business. He was also the President of Alliance Française de Madras, the IndoFrench Cultural Centre in Chennai. He is probably one of the few Indians who has visited every nook and corner of the French Wine regions to gain first-hand knowledge of the French wine culture, which continues to be his passion. His Journey has been an interesting melange of his diverse passions and interests.
    Mr. Chinmaya Arjun Raja is the Founder of the Chennai Wine Club in the city of Chennai (Madras) Tamil Nadu state of South India. As South India’s First Wine Educator with 20 years of experience in wines in India and abroad, he has been organising wine events and training workshops in Chennai and other parts of India since 2000, when he launched one of India’s first wine forums. His passion for wines developed during his several trips to France and other wine producing countries in Europe.
    He was the Co-Founder of Wine Academy of India in the year 2010 and organised & conducted monthly Wine Appreciation & Tasting Sessions and Wine Courses for a few years in Chennai city and trained around 300 people. He has been organising various International wine events and Food & Wine Dinners in Chennai and Mumbai with visiting French Chefs and Sommeliers.
    His recent wine venture is Tasting Pleasures – Wine Education Centre based in Chennai. Apart from organising the wine education sessions (both Online and on site sessions), the Centre offers plenty of study material on wines – books on food and wines in different languages, various wine magazines from around the world, information and maps of wine regions of the world, sample bottles to understand wine labels, movies and documentaries on wines, and various wine accessories. These resources are the personal collection of Mr. Raja, collected over the past two
    decades.
    Chinmaya Raja launched a small artisanal food venture “Panakam – Tradition in a Bottle” in 2015 to share the traditional culinary heritage treasured by his family for generations like the traditional sun dried Mango Pickles. Various traditional food products are made at home under the “Panakam“ umbrella using indigenous methods of pickling and preserving treasured by various traditional communities in South India. Online shopping portal was launched in 2018 – www.panakam.com and the product experiences are delivered across India. He also does Popup
    lunches under “Panakam Kitchen” for guests and interested groups and Cookery training.
    Chinmaya Raja is also in the process of writing two Cook books on different South Indian cuisines and a YouTube series on Indian Wines and Wine Tourism.
