Asheesh Mehra

Asheesh Mehra currently serves on the Board of a global intelligent automation software provider, AntWorks, which he co-founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Singapore. Mehra’s vision when founding the business was simple: to unlock the value of unstructured data and enable enterprises to focus on data decision-making rather than data processing. Mehra’s lens on the automation world, was shaped by two prior decades of frontline experience, driving productivity across end-to-end business processes in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector. Using the vantage point his customers, Mehra identi?ed that data was the most critical factor for automation success. He recognised that traditional data ingestion technologies, were crucially unable to access the majority of enterprise data due to its unstructured format. It was this inability to extract, read and digitise data outside of structured templates, that he cited was holding back the progress that robotic process automation (RPA) had promised to enterprises. Together with Co-Founder Govind Sandhu, he prophesised that RPA solutions alone would not solve the automation conundrum as they only automated tasks – not holistic processes. AntWorks created a unique solution to the data digitisation problem (Cognitive Machine Reading – CMR) which could read all unstructured data, and with this built a full stack integrated platform (ANTstein™) giving customers a seamless combination of data digitisation and transport with AI and Machine Learning. In the eight years prior to AntWorks, Mehra lead BPO for Infosys across Asia Paci?c, Japan and the Middle East, generating regional growth in excess of 40% pa and increasing total revenues from 300K USD to 140M USD throughout his tenure. Winning key accounts in multiple verticals, such as Banking, Insurance, Mining and Retail, Mehra ensured successful client delivery was met from centres in both the Philippines and China, whilst meeting and succeeding centre targets including increasing net margins by 8.4%, maintaining attrition below 35% and doubling their size to 3500 FTE in a 6 month period. Previous to this, Mehra spent 3 years building growth for WNS Global Services, ?rst in Pune, India where he drove business development for the Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) vertical, and subsequently in Chicago, US, when he was promoted to VP Sales for the Insurance Sector. In less than 1000 days, he built a $90m USD business in North America from landmark Insurance deals, including closure of the largest Insurance deal on record for WNS at 220m USD across a 5 year TCV. In his early career, Mehra at operated as Centre Head for Intelenet Global Services in Chennai, where his client relationship management in the Banking and Insurance vertical proved so successful that he was promoted and relocated to Orlando, US, as Relationship and Business Development Lead for the sector. Notable accolades and professional achievements from throughout his career to date include being named “Thought Leader of the Year 2010” by SSON Asia, SSON’s “People’s Choice Award for Contribution to Industry” in Australia 2011, and more recently being honored as “2019 Innovator of the Year” by Singapore Business Review amongst many other.
