    A fashion and textile graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, Akshay is a celebrity fashion stylist and costume designer represented by the premier Indian agency, StyleCell. Akshay’s work in design is exceptionally diverse, ranging from creating hundreds of costume pieces for successful Bollywood films like Sheer Qorma, Bharat Ane Nenu, Bang Bang, and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, to styling celebrities on and off the red carpet, alongside conceptualising innovative exploratory editorials. Throughout, he is committed to constantly questioning the cross-cultural influences and dynamics, between the West and East, in both design and cultural histories.
    When styling, Akshay’s dynamism and desire to take risks has made his work a consistent presence in advertisements, editorials and brand campaigns. When creating for films, Akshay’s meticulousness results in costumes that marry an actor’s personality to their characters, facilitating the unique demands of the Indian film industry with its exceptionally high regard for celebrity status. Having worked for a decade between Bollywood and Tollywood, he has worked on 22 feature films, with Sarkaru Vaari Paata releasing in 2022. One of the biggest recent highlights has been curating the wardrobe for India’s leading drag artiste Rani KoHEnur for the internationally televised Queen of The Universe.
    Most recently he has started a new venture, ‘First Five Steps’, a consultancy promoting both inner and outer sustainability and is curating a product range ‘Happiness Within’ to bring more awareness to spread joy within ourselves and our community.
    His list of celebrity clients is vast and includes Varun Dhawan, the Late Irrfan Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mahesh Babu, Armaan Malik, Arjun Kapoor, Rahul Khanna, Virat Kohli, John Abraham, Sobhita Dhulipala, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, Vaani Kapoor, Kriti Kharbanda, Nimrat Kaur, Gauri Khan, and Katrina Kaif amongst many others. His work has been featured in print and online at Vogue India, Vogue Italia, Filmfare, Architectural Digest, Casa Vogue, Travel + Leisure India and Design Milk, to name a few. He has collaborated with brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, and Ermenegildo Zegna, and designers like Sabyasachi, Shantanu & Nikhil, Gaurav Gupta and Siddartha Tytler on their digital promotional campaigns in India.
