Abhay’s last assignment till 2017 was Executive Director and Chief Wine maker for United Spirits Ltd. – A Diageo Group company.
• He started his career with Champagne India Ltd. in 1984, went on to work with Grover Vineyards Ltd. and United Spirits Ltd. His close association with Rafael Brisbois, the Chief Wine Maker of Piper Heidsieck, France and Michel Rolland, one of the the best known wine consultants in the world, gave him the right exposure and insights into wine making. He was also responsible for the success of Chateau Indage’s two projects targeting the Indian wine market in 1988. He is a member of prestigious wine clubs and has been on the jury panel of many international wine competitions.
• Abhay was the first Wine Maker that India has produced and most importantly, his name is associated with the growth and evolution of wine industry in the country.
