All life is experience and art is the involvement of human experience. Art is the basis of human expression! Both help us to grow, evolve, and become the best version of ourselves. We are like a white canvas when we enter this world and life writes its story. We have a choice of how to create our own canvas of life by exploring various dimensions and possibilities. I am passionate about doing my bit to make the world a better, more peaceful place.
I constantly believe in sharing if it is my resources, time, knowledge, or experience. I am interested in creating awareness on mental health through visual art and having positive conversations about emotional well-being through art. We all know the importance of physical immunity, the body’s ability to fight diseases. In the same way, emotional & mental health is important to develop psychological immunity. Mental health is important because it’s a vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to events. When you are connecting with art, you are ultimately connecting with your inner self & you can easily identify your emotions on a deeper level. If you engage with art you can reshape your thoughts and develop emotional resilience. Creating art and admiring art stimulates the brain and helps you to release stress.
For psychological immunity, you have to cultivate a meditative mind and you can achieve it through engaging with art. Your brain gets into a mental flow when creating art, worries are set aside as you focus on the work you are creating. The benefits of this mental relief are one reason why creating art is used as a therapy for Stress. Art therapy improves the mental health of people who are dealing with addictions, anxiety, attention disorders, grief and loss, depression, eating disorders, emotional and relationship issues, and much more. Artistic activities like drawing, colouring, and painting are very useful to reduce your stress levels. Deep engagement with art reduces anxiety, increases self-esteem, facilitates the ability to develop self-compassion, courage, emotional intelligence, and opens your heart to possibilities. Creativity blocks out worries and you get lost in the process, it suppresses your excess cortisol and boosts your immunity.
Feeling stressed ? Do some colouring to calm yourself down and let your problems evaporate in the air. Colour is the key that reflects our physical, emotional, and spiritual world. Life is colourful if we learn the fascinating and secret language of colours. Colour has a deeper meaning in painting. It is for us to interpret, understand and appreciate the power of colour as a language. I am fascinated with colours, to me, colours are things of beauty, each like a magical powder that could be mixed with each other to create a powerful spell. My art practice has helped me to heal my fragmented senses and reclaim aliveness in the body, mind, and spirit. My creative process helps me to embrace active stillness. Anything you do with full focus is called meditation. For me, painting is my meditation. Fully I concentrate on one thing, so it works as a therapy and helps to maintain the balance of emotions. You don't have to sit in a corner and close your eyes for doing meditation. Just do what you like, even doodling will work. Regardless of whether you have the skills of a professional artist or not, you can just paint your emotions and make a simple greeting card.
Displaying art in the workplace is stimulating. In today’s time, we’re forced to stare at a screen all day long. Having a reason to look away and to re-focus may reduce fatigue. Artwork is the perfect reason to look away for a second and allow your eyes to readjust. Looking at a beautiful painting gives the same pleasure as being in love. Art is healing because it forces you to build a connection between your mind and body. And also help you to see things from a new perspective. I encourage people to start small with something like colouring. The complex patterns of the art you are colouring can actually induce you into a semi-hypnotic state. When thoughts are focused on a simple activity, your brain tends to relax. The difficulties of life evaporate from your awareness. With all the crisis in the world today, maintaining a positive and hopeful outlook can be challenging. It is during times of darkness that we need to switch our internal light of rainbow back. A rainbow reminds us of the endless possibilities in this uncertain Journey. We have to remember that a rainbow is sunshine mixed with tears.
